Public Information Repositories

Information is key to ensuring meaningful public participation. In the early 1990's, the Community Relations Plan for the Hanford Federal Facility Agreement and Consent Order, now known as the Hanford Public Involvement Plan, identified the need to make available to the public documents and information on Hanford cleanup. The public information repositories or PIRs were established to address that information need. There are four PIR locations located outside of the Hanford Site and one onsite location. Today, the PIRs provide computers and assistance for the public to electronically access information in the Administrative Record. Contact the PIRs directly for hours of operation.
